A downloadable game

I was showing my kid how to make a fortune teller/chatterbox, and was certain there were some proper game mechanics that could be applied to it somewhere, somehow. It's super quick and easy, and possibly barely qualifies as a game. But I've taken a shine to it and it's given me a good starting point for more ideas using this format.

HOW TO PLAY

The space station: FORTUNA TELLARIS has been overtaken by marauders. Rescue the station one section at a time. On each turn, choose which of the 8 sections to take back next and then flip the adjacent flap onto the outside so it covers the section opposite (see photos as demonstration). Be careful though, because rescuing a section comes at a cost and the adjacent section will be lost.

Start with 0 Parts and 0 Rescue. Adjust these as you recover each section. When you have no sections left to save, if each  is +1 or more, you can fix up the station and rescue will come soon.

It could also be used as a narrative prompt tool.

All the artwork was done by me, nothing in relation to this project was generated by AI in any way. HUMAN MADE.

Checkout a great guide on how to fold one, from Shouting Crow, here. The main difference with this design is the additional cuts to the triangular sections, to make 2 smaller triangles and separate the 8 individual 'choices' inside. Shown in the photos.

I am currently working on a 2-player version that has more depth and strategy where you each have a ship, but it may take some time to come to fruition!

Ah! This is great. Clever use of the medium, full of difficult choices and tragic consequences.

Thank you!
